Building on the success of the existing MSc Real Estate, the School of the Built Environment has teamed up with colleagues in the Oxford School of Hospitality Management to introduce the new Hotel & Hospitality pathway. The growth in the UK hotel market looks set to continue into 2016, according to industry experts at Price Waterhouse Coopers. And this is particularly true in the London hotel market where demand for hotel accommodation at both ends of the market (budget and luxury) shows no sign of slowing down. After all, London is the most googled city in the world (according to recent research).
And it's not just London, the increase in travel and tourism expenditure worldwide shows no sign of slowing down. Take a look at the recent report from JLL on the hotel real estate sector in Africa.
Looking to the future, the demand for real estate professionals with expertise in the hotel and hospitality sector looks set to increase. And so, from September 2016 there will be a new pathway through the MSc Real Estate at Oxford Brookes: Hotel & Hospitality. The School of the Built Environment has teamed up with colleagues in the Oxford School of Hospitality Management to introduce the new Hotel & Hospitality pathway through the MSc Real Estate which will provide a RICS accredited programme that covers elements of real estate and hospitality, to meet the growing market demand for qualified property professionals in the hospitality industry.
On 27 April 2016, Henry Stewart Conference Studies will be running a prestige conference about Hotel Operating Agreements and they have kindly agreed to sponsor Nick French, the MSc Real Estate leader, to attend. Nick said: 'This is a wonderful opportunity for me to build upon my existing network of contacts and refresh my understanding and knowledge about the hotel industry. I am really grateful to Henry Stewart for supporting me and Oxford Brookes University in this way.'
