Nick French, Programme Leader for the MSc Real Estate Management and the MSc International Real Estate managed to pack a lot into the first week for the new students. Here are a few highlights...photos by Rachel Dixon, Andressa Minogue and Nick French.

The next day (Wednesday) the students were taken on a walking tour of Oxford by Nick French (Programme Leader) and
Angus McIntosh (Visiting Professor at Oxford Brookes and expert in international economics and property markets). Lunch (if you're interested) was at Pizza Hut.

Thursday was a day for an introductory lecture from Nick and then formal enrolment with the Department and the University. A field trip to DTZ HQ in London followed on Friday. The students attended a number of presentations including 'A Day in the Life of a Surveyor' given by James Rolton, a Senior Surveyor at DTZ - interesting as James is a graduate from the MSc Real Estate Management at Oxford Brookes. The students were then given a tour of City Offices by a member of the City Agency Team at DTZ.

The second week was when the work really began with a brief interruption on Tuesday for Sponsors' Day (or Suit Wearing Day as it is also known). The students enjoyed presentations from CBRE, Cluttons, DTZ, GVA, JLL, Knight Frank and Savills.

The next event? On Tuesday 9 October, Nick has arranged a special Careers Day run by our alumni via
OBREMS (Oxford Brookes Real Estate Management Society) and our contacts in industry.
