You shall go to the (foot)ball...

Each year in November, the Oxford Brookes Real Estate Management Society (OBREMS) organises their Annual Dinner for alumni and staff.

As well as the food, liquid refreshments, networking and after-dinner speeches, there is usually a raffle. In 2013, Rebecca Gee (Senior Lecturer in Real Estate) was lucky enough to win one of the prizes which was donated by Strutt & Parker: two tickets to Wembley to see a football match of her choice. Rebecca chose the FA Cup Final on the 17th May between Arsenal and Hull City.

Here's what she told me about the match: 'The seats were fantastic although we were surrounded by die-hard Arsenal supporters who were very unhappy after 10 minutes as Hull had gone 2-0 up. However, they were eventually happy after extra time as Arsenal took the cup after a very frantic last 10 minutes. It was a very exciting game'. You can see the full match report on the BBC website.

And here is Rebecca together with one of the die-hard Arsenal supporters.

Many thanks to Strutt & Parker for their generous donation and support of OBREMS. You might like to know that Strutt & Parker was established in 1885, when old school friends, Edward Strutt and Charles Parker became business partners to manage large estates in the east of England, the business today provides professional support on all matters relating to land and property – whether offices or farms, country houses or business parks, leisure centres or dairy farms, new home construction or rural estate management.
