Are there really jobs outside London?

The answer is YES! Nick French (Programme Director for the MSc Real Estate) recently organised a 'Graduate Opportunities Careers Fair' which focused on the job market beyond the main consultancy firms based in London. The Careers Fair was held on Tuesday, 4 February 2014 and was open to final year students on the BSc Real Estate Management and students on the MSc Real Estate.

Nick had invited a number of guest speakers to talk about working for 'niche' firms and job opportunities outside of London as well as sharing their experiences of work in different sectors of the real estate industry. I stayed to listen to (and take some photos of) Nick's introduction and the presentations from the first three speakers. The presentations were excellent and the students got the opportunity to ask lots of questions.

After a short break, Iain Roden from LendLease (investor-developers) and Les Ross from Standard Life gave the final two presentations before the students had an opportunity to ask more questions and speak to the presenters on a one-to-one basis.
