MSc Real Estate: 2013 Field Trip to London

The MSc Real Estate students went to London a couple of weeks ago (15 November). So, where did they go?

The day started with a site visit (hosted by Savills) to the development taking place at King's Cross. The students met at the German Gymnasium which was built in 1865 and also staged the indoor events of the first National Olympic Games. This elegant building has now been restored as a contemporary restaurant venue.

Back to the site visit. The students were taken on a walk-through tour of the King's Cross site by a team from Savills - you can find out more about the development on the King's Cross website. The tour finished with a visit to the offices of Argent (the principal developer) for a chance to talk about the development taking place as well as looking at the plans and models on display.

The students then moved on to the Savills Office in Margaret Street for a presentation from Roseanna Jaggard, Associate Director Central London & International about the role Savills is playing in the King's Cross development Savills is one of the two agents acting on behalf of the King's Cross Central Limited partnership (KCCLP) - the other being DTZ.

In the afternoon the students visited Merchant Square in Paddington for a tour of 5 Merchant Square, hosted by Knight Frank. Take a look at the Merchant Square website for everything you need to know about the site and some beautiful images of the redevelopment taking place (and don't miss the award-winning water maze). Thanks to Flora McPhail for the photos.
