The new undergraduate students arrived over the weekend of 15/16 September and so Freshers' Week began...and ended almost too soon. Now the real work begins. And so to remember those first days, some photos featuring the new undergrad students and happenings on campus. Photos by Franco Cheung and Rachel Dixon.

On Thursday all the first years in DREC headed down into Oxford for a walking tour and quiz. To help them on their way they were given the DREC Guide to Oxford. The fact that all the students found their way down to the Taylor Institution (next to the Ashmolean Museum) for the quiz suggests that the DREC Guide was helpful as well as a bit of a challenge. The Taylor Institution is a bit of a special place for Oxford Brookes - it was here that the university started out as the Oxford School of Art which was founded in 1865 as one room on the ground floor. Take a look at our history if you're interested.

And then the Quiz started...
And that was it as far as the Department was concerned. Friday was a free day for the students to enjoy the other activities taking place during Freshers' Week...which I'm sure extended over the weekend...and resulted in some excellent photos which should probably not be published on this blog.
